What air conditioner handles Brisbane humidity?

Brisbane's January average is 30.4 degrees, which is not dramatic. The problem is the nights. The average January minimum is 21.7 degrees and afternoon humidity sits around 57 to 59 percent through January and February, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. Humidity changes what you should buy. An oversized unit cools the room fast, switches off, and leaves the moisture behind. That is the clammy lounge people complain about. Queensland air conditioning rebates in 2026

There is no statewide household air conditioning rebate in Queensland in 2026. The Climate Smart Energy Savers appliance rebate, which did cover efficient reverse cycle units, has closed, and the Queensland Government's home energy savings page no longer lists it. What you can control is the quote. An itemised quote from a vetted local installer, checked against the table above, does more for your budget than any rebate rumour. Running the system on rooftop solar through the afternoon is the closest thing Brisbane has to a subsidy.
