Samsung's pitch is the connected home: if your lights, TV and doorbell already speak SmartThings, the air conditioner joining them is genuinely convenient rather than a gimmick.
The WindFree feature is the other honest differentiator. The indoor unit diffuses air through thousands of micro-holes instead of a directed cold stream, which people who hate sleeping in a draught notice and like.
Typical installed price for a bedroom split is around $1,600 to $2,200 in 2026 on a standard install, and Samsung discounts hard through retail channels, so the sticker moves more than most.
The consideration is the same as LG: the trade prefers brands with thick local service networks, and Samsung warranty runs through the national consumer system. Fine in the capitals, worth checking in the regions.
Model churn deserves a mention. Samsung refreshes ranges quickly, so pin the quote to the exact model number and check the warranty years on that model, not the range in general.

Samsung split system range guide for 2026
Samsung Australia currently lists four wall-mounted split ranges. It doesn't label them by tier, but the features make the order clear: the two WindFree ranges sit at the top.

Samsung ducted and multi-split
Samsung sells five ducted systems in Australia. There are the Wi-Fi Slim-Line Duct (7.1 to 14 kW), the Premium Splittable Duct (10 to 20 kW, single or three phase) and a High Efficiency Splittable Duct (10 to 18 kW). They run from a wired controller and SmartThings. Samsung doesn't name a dedicated zoning system on its site, so ask the installer how zones will be controlled. Samsung ducted turns up on fewer quotes than Daikin or ActronAir, so get at least two brands priced for the same zone layout. Our ducted cost guide gives typical prices by home size.
The FJM multi-split comes in two-, three- and four-room kits pairing wall-mounted heads with one outdoor unit. Expect $4,500 to $7,500 installed for two heads.
Samsung air con remote symbols and error codes
The Samsung remote uses standard mode icons, which our modes and symbols guide explains, plus a combined Fast/WindFree button on current models. Fast runs at full output to cool or heat quickly. WindFree switches to the micro-hole airflow once the room is near temperature. WindFree Good Sleep is a night setting, and AI Energy Mode trims output to save power. Eco, Quiet and Auto Clean round out the remote.
Samsung's wall-split manual says that if the indoor unit's indicator blinks, you should write down the error code shown and contact Samsung service. Samsung Australia doesn't publish an owner-facing list of code meanings, so we don't list codes here. Manuals are on Samsung's Australian support site by model number. On ducted systems, the outdoor unit has a four-digit display that technicians use to read status and error codes.
If your Samsung is more than 10 to 12 years old, or keeps throwing the same code, get a replacement priced before you pay for a big repair. Samsung air conditioner warranty in Australia
Samsung's air conditioner warranty card gives all unit types 5 years parts and labour for domestic use. Wall-mounted single splits also get a 10-year compressor warranty: the first 5 years parts and labour, the second 5 years parts only. Ducted, cassette and FJM multi-split compressors get 5 years parts and labour. Permanently wired units must be connected by a licensed electrician, and improper installation voids cover.
Warranty service runs through Samsung Electronics Australia, based at Sydney Olympic Park, rather than a local dealer network. In the capitals that is routine.
