If you live in Victoria and you still heat with gas ducted, read this before you ring a mate with a van. Victorian Energy Upgrades is the only air con discount in the country that regularly changes the decision.

Replacing gas ducted heating with efficient reverse cycle can take $2,500 to $5,530 off the quote. A high-efficiency split upgrade is smaller, often $400 to $1,610. The installer applies it on the invoice. You do not fill in a Commonwealth form.

There is no income test on the basic activity. The home is usually older than two years. The installer has to be accredited in the scheme. If they cannot show the discount on the quote, they are not the installer.
