Aircon noise ruins more sleep than heat does. The difference between a unit rated around 19 dB(A) on low and one rated 26 is the difference between 'is it even on?' and a hum you learn to resent at 2am.
Two honesty notes before the list. Those low figures are maker-rated minimums on the quietest setting in a lab — real rooms run a few dB higher. And the outdoor unit matters too: put it under someone else's bedroom window and you have exported the problem, not solved it.

Rated within a decibel or two of the Daikin on low and effectively indistinguishable without a meter. Buy whichever of the two quotes sharper for your size — for sleep purposes this is a tie.
MHI's quiet mode gets genuinely close to the leaders for a few hundred dollars less. If the bedroom budget stops short of the big two, this is where it should land — not on a budget unit whose 'quiet mode' is a slower version of loud.

Mount the indoor unit away from the bed head, not above it — you want the air washing across the room, not the fan next to your ear. Slightly oversize the airflow and run a lower fan speed: a 3.5 kW unit loafing at 40% is quieter than a 2.5 kW working flat out.
Outdoors, keep the compressor off bedroom walls — yours and the neighbour's — and onto brackets with rubber isolation rather than a resonant fence line. A good installer raises this before you do; it is one of the tells you have found one.

Daikin's premium splits (Alira X, and the flagship US7) hold the widely available crown, maker-rated down around 19 dB(A) on the lowest setting. Mitsubishi Electric's MSZ-AP series is within a couple of decibels — in a real bedroom the two are effectively tied.
Rated around 19–22 dB(A) on the low indoor setting is genuinely quiet — below a whisper. Mid-tier units typically run 24–28 dB(A) on low, which most people still sleep under happily. Budget units at full fan can pass 40 dB(A), which you will hear.
Counter-intuitively, often yes at the same output: a larger unit cruising at low fan speed is quieter than a small one working hard. That is not a licence to double-size — short-cycling brings its own comfort problems. One size up in a bedroom, at most.
Clean the filters, run night or quiet mode, drop the fan a speed, and have loose panels or a vibrating outdoor mount checked at the next service. A rattling outdoor unit on a fence is a mounting problem, not a reason to replace the system.
